Tea Plucking
Pluckers on the estate aim to pick 20kg a day. It is not easy work and they head into the fields in almost all weathers.
You can see the work close up with Mr Dassanayake - our estate manager of nearly a quarter century.
We charge a small amount for Mr Das's tea tour and tasting - all of which goes to the estate team.
Tea weighing
The pluckers bring in their crop twice a day - around 12pm and 4pm.
At around 100 acres, our estate isn't large enough to warrant its own factory so a truck from a neighbouring estate comes to collect our tea and take it to the factory to be processed.
