Private waterfalls
A river runs right through the estate at Ashburnham, dotted with cascades and one big private waterfall.

Happy isolation
Sorry this pic is a little grainy but we like it - Ashburnham well and truly out on its own. And yes, that is a pool slide.

Tea fields and sunsets
You pass this field on a short-ish walk up the village road from the house. It’s an ideal late afternoon stroll.

Bedroom views
This from the Family Room, looking up towards Mount Hunasgiriya.

Plucking with the ladies
As a working estate we have 20 ladies plucking tea almost every day. They’ll happily taking any extra hands on offer.

People like Vish
Vishwam has been at Ashburnham for nearly 20 years. Initially a junior gardener he is now very much ‘head of house’. “Keep calm and ask Vish.”

Space to escape
We’ve only 6 bedrooms and have 100 acres to enjoy - so there’s plenty of space to explore and unwind.

Nostalgia
With afternoons of tennis and tea on the terrace you can feel like you’re back in the ‘30s. Fun from time-to-time!

Glowing sunsets
The main house faces west and from the front terrace we’re often treated to magical sunsets.
